Porters Autoglass — Warranty Summary (South Australia)

Workmanship (new glass): Lifetime for as long as you own the vehicle we serviced (non‑transferable).

Workmanship (secondhand glass): 90 days only. No warranty on secondhand glass or integrated features (e.g. demister/antenna).

Free chip repairs (windscreens): Free in‑store chip repairs for the life of your vehicle (original owner; booking required). If a chip cannot be repaired or later cracks, standard replacement pricing applies.

Voids/exclusions: rust/corrosion; declined replacement of required mouldings/clips; poor/worn wipers; wet‑weather outdoor trade work at your request; third‑party interference after our work; accident/impact; defects inherent in secondhand glass.

Wipers: Must be serviceable at install and replaced/maintained at least every 12 months.

Australian Consumer Law: Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.


Porters Autoglass — Terms & Conditions (South Australia)

Scope: Autoglass repair/replacement (cars, trucks, buses, machinery), chip repairs (in‑store), ADAS diagnostics & calibration (pre‑scan → calibration → post‑scan), window tinting, wiper supply.

Quotes & payment: Quotes are estimates; extra parts/labour may be required if issues are discovered. Retail payment due on completion; trade 14 days (approved). Afterpay at full RRP. Repairer’s lien: we may retain possession until paid in full (we do not disable vehicles).

Chip repairs: Free in‑store chip repairs for life of vehicle on Porters‑installed windscreens (booking required). If a chip isn’t repairable or cracks, replacement is at customer cost. If we didn’t install the windscreen and a paid chip repair later fails, we deduct the repair fee from a new Porters windscreen for the same vehicle.

Wipers: Must be serviceable at install; replace/maintain every 12 months for leak/scratch coverage.

ADAS: Pre‑scan → calibration → post‑scan. If onsite conditions are unsuitable, return within 30 days; do not rely on ADAS until the post‑scan passes. Deferral requires a waiver.

Rust/body: If present and you proceed, leak/wind‑noise warranty is void for affected areas.

Parts: Declining required mouldings/clips/sensors voids related warranty.

Secondhand glass: 90‑day workmanship only; no warranty on the glass/demister/antenna.

Wet‑weather trade work (outdoors): Warranty void for issues arising from those conditions.

Warranty: Lifetime workmanship on new glass; 12 months on wipers (when supplied by Porters). ACL rights apply.


Aftercare — What to do after your glass is replaced

Safe Drive‑Away Time (SDAT): Do not drive until the SDAT advised by your technician.

First 24–48 hours:

  • Avoid high‑pressure washing.
  • Do not slam doors.
  • Avoid rough roads.
  • Crack a window slightly if advised.

Wipers: Keep wipers clean and replace them every 12 months to protect your glass and maintain warranty.

Chip repairs (Porters‑installed windscreens): Free in‑store chip repairs for the life of your vehicle (original owner; booking required). If a chip cannot be repaired or later cracks, standard replacement pricing applies.

ADAS: If calibration was deferred, book within 30 days; do not rely on ADAS until calibration is completed and the post‑scan passes.


ADAS Calibration — Safety after windscreen replacement

When cameras/radars are disturbed during glass work, calibration may be required. Our process includes a pre‑scan, the calibration, and a post‑scan report.

If onsite conditions aren’t suitable, we complete calibration at our workshop within 30 days. Do not rely on ADAS until you receive the post‑scan confirming completion.

Eligibility: Original owner, Porters‑installed windscreen only. Repairs are in‑store and by booking.

Limitations: The chip must be repairable in our technician’s opinion. If not repairable, or if a crack occurs, replacement is at the customer’s cost at standard pricing.
